Chess

Chess: Embark on an exciting chess journey with an esteemed instructor from Ellen Art School. This enrichment program offers a comprehensive approach to chess education. Each session begins with explanations of key chess concepts, followed by hands-on puzzle solving in workbooks to reinforce learning. Students will enjoy ample time for friendly gameplay, honing their skills in a supportive environment. With a focus on all aspects of the game, including openings, middlegame strategies, and endgame techniques, our class empowers students to elevate their chess prowess so that even beginner chess players can be ready to apply their skills to play and compete outside of class too. Parents will be invited to come and watch an informal competition and medal ceremony on last day of the class.

• When: Mondays (January 12th - March 30th) — 3:30-4:30pm

Digital Design

Web Development and Digital Design: In this exciting class from iCode Bellevue, students will build their first interactive web pages using beginner-friendly, visual coding tools. They will explore web layout, hyperlinks, and visual customization, learning how websites are structured and published safely online.

• When: Tuesdays (January 13th - March 24th) — 3:30-4:30pm

• Grades: 2nd - 5th Grade. Class not offered to Pre-K, K, or 1st Grade students at this time.

Cooking

Cooking: Sticky Fingers Cooking brings hands-on culinary classes to your students—no kitchen needed! Students will learn how to cook delicious dishes from around the world, all different each week! In this class, food allergies will be accommodated to the extent possible. All recipes are nut-free, and parents will receive the recipes to try at home! Do not miss this opportunity for your child!

• When: Wednesdays (January 14th - March 25th) — 3:30-4:30pm

• Grades: PK - 1st Grade. Class not offered to 2nd Grade and above students at this time.

Karate

Karate: Students will learn and practice Karate skills with punching bags, breaking boards, blocking drills, kicking targets, and more! The professional instructor from Karate-X will motivate kids while building self-confidence and discipline. Parents will be able to attend the belt test and ceremony at the end of each session, giving students firmly-defined goals to aim for and recognition of their accomplishments. Thousands of kids have enjoyed Karate-X classes, and yours will love it too! Price includes belt test and uniform.
